Sunset Park, from the water

Yuki TanakaVerified New Yorker

I started taking the early ferry to paint the waterfront before the light got ordinary.

From the water, Sunset Park is a single living thing — the cranes, the rowhouses, the hill, the green. I've painted it forty times and it's never twice the same color.
